We Are Green

Did you know that we use Take Out containers & Cups that are made of corn and 100% biodegradable?  Our pot & pan cleaner, table cleaner & all purpose cleaner are all Biodegradable & Earth friendly.  We flush our lines with a cleaner called ‘Compass’.  This cleaner is completely non-toxic, food friendly & biodegradable.  When combined with hot water and poured down the drains, it eats away at pipe build up in a natural way.  It can be used on all surfaces.  We have hand soap, deli sheets, 2 oz soufflé cups & lids & straws & take out silverware that are all biodegradable and made from renewable resources.

Our hand towel dispensers our energy efficient, as are the toilet paper dispensers. The commodes themselves use less water per flush. We currently have a water saving dishwashing machine, and are trading in our chemicals for the most eco-friendly detergents available to us. Additionally, we scrape the food scraps on the plates into the garbage, so that less water is used rinse off the plates.
We recycle our fryer grease, use Natural gas, and installed a tank less hot water heater about 1 1/2 years ago. We finally have available energy efficient light bulbs, and, in the next few weeks hope to get ours changed out. We have just been given permission, by our landlord to start our own organic garden. It is currently off site, and we are getting ready to start planting some new things in it soon! We save scraps to make our own compost and started saving rain water to irrigate.

We currently have two earth friendly t-shirts: one is made from recycled cotton & polyester, and the other from 100% organic cotton. The screening process is more earth friendly, using water as the base instead of the plastic or vinyl used in the past.

We know we have a way to go, but I wanted to share our accomplishments with you. Our entire staff is committed to making our restaurant as eco-friendly as possible. This is an ongoing process, and we continue to work hard to make necessary changes. My husband & I really love what we do, and hope to do this for a long time. We want to make sure that we do our part to make a difference in our industry and for our community.
